The Gtk_Text does not and will never support horizontal scrolling.
To get horizontal scrolling, you should use another text widget
(e.g GtkExText), or wait for Gtk 2.0 that comes with a new and much more
powerful text widget.

Concerning the various warnings/errors you are getting, these might well be
real errors in your code that are not reported/detected under Tru64.
There is not much more that can be said without some reproducible examples of
the various symptoms you are encountering.
