You are unfair, PolyORB also works flawlessly on Solaris, FreeBSD,
HP-UX, but also on ORK and MaRTE OS with some patching (even if I can
understand you are not interrested in these ;)

I'm currently testing a patch for shared libraries. 

> Windows has a max. comandline lenght of 8192.

We got positive feedbacks using the CygWin toolsuite. We will document
this ASAP.
