I have downloaded "GTK+ 2.6.9 DLLs for Windows". The installer disables 
the GTK DLL it finds (by renaming them .DLL.OFF).
It works now, thank you (and testgtk from the GtkAda-2.4.0 directory is 
still working too). I did not want to spent time recompiling GTK (with 
Windows/GCC it's a bit boring).

And I think that GtkAda lacks a "Gdk.Threads" test/example.
