If you do not have experience with Linux I recommend SUSE or RedHat. The
prior because the last version comes with Gnat and other Ada pacakges.
Personally I use Debian, but it is a bit harder for a beginner.
Mandrake has also gotten good critics. All these distributions except
Debian use the package format RPM, Debian uses DEB. The advantage with
packages is that you don't have to compile things as long as somebody
has done it for you :-). This also makes it easy to uninstall software.
