I was (finally) able to get through to it today. According to 
http://uptime.netcraft.com/up/accuracy.html#whichsites , a site gets 
added to their list of sites to monitor whenever someone asks its OS via 
the "What's that site running" web form at 
http://uptime.netcraft.com/up/graph . Thus one good way to increase 
AWS's exposure on the netcraft surveys should be to submit the URL of 
any internet-connected AWS server you know of via that form. :-)
