Ok, I tried it again but I still can't get it to work correctly:

I have a tiny test program only consiting of errmsg.c. I compiled it into an
executable with "gcc -g errmsg.c -o errmsg" and startet "emacs errmsg.c". Now
if I do "M-x gvd" or "M-x gvd errmsg", I get the gvd window with a swallowed
emacs main window and two frames: The source file which was already opened
and a "gud Debugger" window. However, if I use the "Step" and similar
functions of gvd, nothing happens, if I use the curresponding gud functions
while being in the gud frame I get "wrong type argument: stringp, nil".

What am I doing wrong?

Many thanks in advance for your help!

Greetings,

  Gunter Ohrner
