[gvd-users] Remote debugging... source files problematic

For some reason, the top of the previous message was cut off:

<FontFamily><param>David</param>More info about the source files not being shown on GVD (when remote

debugging from an NT machine -- using rcp, not NFS):

Sometimes the source code is shown in the window, sometimes it isn't

(usually not)... I can run GVD<FontFamily><param>Arial</param> and attempt to read the file, and once
in a

while it works after retrying a few times... other times, I have to

exit and enter a few times before seeing source code... and then I
see

only some of the files . Also, sometimes, when I see the files, I only

see part of the files. Even though I see the entire file in the GNAT

temporary file. They are all --directory 'ed in--- I can see all the

files as GNAT temporary files (not as the real filename -- the log

file refers to the real filenames)- well before I try to retry (I'm on

a network, so it's quick) but for some reason, looking at the log, it

seems that the program sees the file 'disappear'...

Don't see source code:

[1] <<- "(gdb) \r\n"

[1] -> "info line\n"

[1] <<- "Line 137 of "/my/path/filename.c" starts at address 0x2f864

<<main+16> and ends at 0x2f868 <<main+20>.\r\n"

       "/my/path/filename.c:137:3720:beg:0x2f864\r\n"

[1] <<- "(gdb) "

[1] -> "info line\n"

[1] <<- "Line 137 of "/my/path/filename.c" starts at address 0x2f864

<<main+16> and ends at 0x2f868 <<main+20>.\r\n"

       "/my/path/filename.c:137:3720:beg:0x2f864\r\n"

[1] <<- "(gdb) "

# File not found: /my/path/filename.c

See source code (even though the later stuff says 'contains no code'

-- log starts at same point as above) [1] <<- "(gdb) \r\n" [1] -> "info

line\n" [1] <<- "Line 137 of "/my/path/filename.c" starts at address

0x2f864 <<main+16> and ends at 0x2f868 <<main+20>.\r\n"

       "/my/path/filename.c:137:3720:beg:0x2f864\r\n"

[1] <<- "(gdb) "

[1] -> "info line\n"

[1] <<- "Line 137 of "/my/path/filename.c" starts at address 0x2f864

<<main+16> and ends at 0x2f868 <<main+20>.\r\n"

       "/my/path/filename.c:137:3720:beg:0x2f864\r\n"

[1] <<- "(gdb) "

[1] -> "info breakpoints\n"

[1] <<- "No breakpoints or watchpoints.\r\n"

[1] <<- "(gdb) "

[1] -> "  \n"

[1] <<- "(gdb) "

[1] -> "info line filename.c:1\n"

[1] <<- "Line 1 of "/my/path/filename.c" is at address 0x2f854 <<main>

but contains no code.\r\n"

       "/my/path/filename.c:1:0:beg:0x2f854\r\n"

etc (more like this)

Item 2) Also, when I try to make breakpoints, it sometimes works,

other times I see blue dots and don't see the breakpoint and then the

remote side of the program hangs... I.E., I can use the UI, but it

doesn't do anything on gdb--- typing in the gdb window hangs. This

remote hang also happens when I try to open files time and time again

as part of my troubleshooting. This hanging isn't the reason why the

files don't get seen -- this happens later.

Ideas?

Thanks
