Rick,
I have to agree, but I think these generators have some use to get started. If you write these types of programs often enough and have built up a library of code examples then your way is better.
FWIW I built my little Sudoku program after having a very good look at your Gadget and Walker programs and using some of your techniques. :o) I only wrote it for fun (I'm retired) and to keep myself somewhat in touch with Ada. The program remains unfinished as the logic for solving harder puzzles is quite complex and I have other interests.

IMHO, you should dump code generators altogether and write your widgets the way you want them. It's the only way I know to have some form of control over the output. Go to http://adasafehouse.webs.com/GtkAda.html and try either 'Gadget' or 'Walker'. It's a lot of work but it's worth it.
