[gtkada] themes

Okay,
I get it.
For example, there is package called mesgui, on FreeBSD, that is another windowing "framework" (I suppose is the term).  It has it's own low level "stuff".  Anyway...

I was browsing through the FreeBSD ports and found a bunch of packages for Gtk themes.  From the description it sounds like a library but I am not sure.  What is a theme and how are they used?
