[gtkada] Context menu question

I've successfully created a menu that pops up
when the right mouse button is clicked.
However there's one problem. The first item isn't 
highlighted when the menu appears, while the mouse 
cursor is over the first item. The only way to 
highlight it is to move the cursor to the next item, or
move it outside and back inside the menu again.
Only then can it be used. This is awkward for the user.
The context menu in testgtk doesn't have this problem.
Anyone knows what I might be doing wrong?
