But I think (Anh Vo)'s intention is to get advice from GtkAda's wise men
their opinion/experience working on Linux. Could Henri's response
off-topic? He just expressed all his experience using M8.1 and other
distribution.
Why start a war?
BTW, Anh Vo, I am using Caldera 2.3/2.4 and I am quite happy with it. In
fact, our development team is working on Caldera. The problem with
Caldera is the lib. Most RPM/packages are built around RedHat and SuSE
because these two have the most current kernel. Of course, Caldera has
3.x
which comes with latest kernel 2.4.x. You can take a look at
http://www.gnuada.org and you will find most of the packages are built
for RH and SuSE. It certainly save times when come to installing
ready-made packages. But, Caldera is as good for GtkAda and Glade, I bet
my head on it. I had a little problem not long ago with GtkAda, but
given some time and effort, I have solved the problem with help from
this mailing-list.
I have heard of SuSE is one of the very best and I certainly agree with
it based on the information I get from their web. I would also like to
try out SuSE one day, when I can steal a little time. If you happen to
choose SuSE, let me know. You have my e-mail address.
