[gtkada] getting info from an editable text field

i'm trying to get the text when they hit enter

ie. i want to have a basic interface in which the user can type commands and 
do things like get the display to show something, so when they hit enter i 
want to get that and run a simple case statement on what they type, but i 
don't know how to get what they type once they've hit enter
