[gps-users] GPS on Fedora 8

I don't see this getting thru the list so excuse me if it's a repeat.

Is anybody successfully running GPS on Fedora 8?  I get xcp_lock.c  
Assertion Failed when I try.  If I run the 4.3 daily snapshot I get it  
immediately.  If I try the older one on my system I get the splash  
screen first, then I get the failure and crash.

I've tried the LIBXCB_ALLOW_SLOPPY_LOCK=1 trick with no luck and today  
I found the Updater had a new libxcb but I still get the same results.

I'm using Fedora 8-64, if it makes a difference.
