Hmm... May be I am incorrect... then please, accept my excuses.

When I mark some text, the cursor actually disappears from the screen. The 
feeling is that it automatically moves to the marked text position as it is 
the only one different.
When I tried to click in the desired destination position (to put the cursor 
there, as you said), the mark was cleared and therefore nothing copied...

So, may be my problem is that the current cursor position is not visible?
