For nearly 20 years SIGAda has brought a booth to the exhibit hall at
the SIGCSE Technical Symposium. We talk with attendees about using Ada
in the classroom and research projects. We give away Ada Lovelace
buttons, papers describing real-world projects in which Ada is used, and
brochures explaining the benefits of GAP membership. It is always nice
to enlighten those younger professors who have never heard of Ada and
those older ones who thought that Ada disappeared decades ago. A
picture of the booth at a prior SIGCSE meeting is available at

This year Dick Hull (of Lenoir-Rhyne University) and I were scheduled to
man the booth. Unfortunately, Dick will be having some surgery next
week and is unable to attend the conference. If you are planning to
attend SIGCSE this year, I would love to have your help at the booth
before, during, and/or after the show.

I am planning to set up the booth late Wednesday afternoon February 29.
I have to leave early morning on Saturday, March 3. Dick was going to
pack up the booth at the end of the show (Noon) on Saturday and ship it
back to its home base at the University of Northern Iowa. So I would
particularly appreciate for someone to do the packing up. The
alternative is for me to pack things up Friday night and skip the last
morning of the show.

Hoping to hear from a few academic Ada enthusiasts!

John
