John,
I don't think the Japanese train systems have Ada
in their software. However, I'll ask Jun Shimura
since he is the person most aware of Ada usage in Japan.

P.S. At least the picture is not of
a religious figure in a military
context.

Subject: [GAP] Is Ada inside the Bullet Train? and Ada at SIGCSE
My publisher just sent me a draft of a cover design for the 2nd edition
of
my data structures textbook (updated to Ada 2005). It includes a
photograph of the Bullet Train going through rural Yonezawa, Japan. I've
always been under the impression that the Bullet Train had some Ada
inside. However, it does not appear on Mike Feldman's web page listing
the
commercial uses of Ada. Can anyone confirm that Ada is on board this
train?
Any GAP members planning on attending the ACM SIGCSE conference next
month? Dick Hull, Martin Carlisle, and I will be managing the SIGAda
booth
in the exhibit hall. We can always use a few more volunteers to help
spread the word on Ada to academics. AdaCore will be there this year as
promoting GAP.
Thanks for any assistance on either request.
John
