Ahh, so this really is just a clarification? Clearly I was one of those
being confused. My bad.

That isn't typically what I would use AWS for. In fact, I have yet to
*ever* do that kind of work. 

A built in webserver is quite useful for any application that is
designed to remotely control and/or monitor hardware, or long-running
software processes. Among other benefits, it prevents you from having to
roll your own GUI networked client (and go around installing it on every
computer you might ever want to use remotely). However, my only use of
it to date was GPL anyway, and this decision has clearly already been
made, so I don't see much point in arguing it. 

I'll just have to take AWS out of my commercial toolbox for such
purposes, that's all. I can still use it for personal GPL work.
